Half of What Online Advertisers Know About You Is Wrong

Understand what information will inspire audiences is the first step to content marketing’s success. Brands compile Big Data to improve their audience targeting capabilities. 

It’s a minor miracle of big data that they know anything about us at all (considering that web advertising companies never explicitly asked us about our preferences). However, at least half of the things they think they know about you could be wrong, and sometimes amusingly correct.

However, according to an experiment conducted by Mashable contributor Christopher Mims, much of what companies think they know about their customers may be false.
