SEO's around the world have been talking about semantic search for quite some time. After the latest Google changes – the Panda and Penguin updates in particular – semantic search is becoming more and more of an highly discussed topic.

But what exactly is semantic search? Well, to keep it simple: semantic search is Google's attempt to understand associations between different types of content, how they relate to each other and then also understand the intention of the user and what he/she is looking for.

That way Google would be able to dramatically improve the relevance and quality of the search results for the end user.
