Should You Relocate Your Physical Business in Order to Rank Better in Google’s Local Search?

Posted in Local SEO

You might think it sounds stupid to relocate a physical business address purly to rank better in search engines for local search terms.

But you will be surprised to hear that many businesses have already done so!

What’s the idea behind it? It’s quite simple: If your business address is in the outer suburbs of a major city, Google can see this on your website. If someone does a search for your products and services and adds the name of the city your website might not come up on top as you are not exactly in the CBD area.

Let me give you an example. Let’s assume you are a local Plumber in Joondalup and your business serves all of the greater metropolitan Perth area.

If someone searches on Google for “Plumber Perth” your local business listing might not come up in the search results because your physical business location is not in Perth but in Joonalup!

But does a relocation really help your Google rankings… probably NOT, and here at the Perth SEO Company we would definitely NOT reccomend doing so!
