Study: 72% of Consumers Trust Online Reviews as Much as Personal Recommendations

One media type that has garnered a lot of attention is user-generated content (USG). In fact, 83% of consumers say that USG reviews impact their purchase decisions at least sometimes. This compels ecommerce brands to leave a few words about their experience online.

According to an article posted at searchengineland.com, the findings of 2012 Local Consumer Review show a positive shift in consumer trust and appreciation for online reviews. Approximately 72% of consumers surveyed said that they trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.
